Competition Format

Overview

The J. Pritchard Distinguished Cup brings together exceptional talent from around the world for three days of high-level team competition. Each club sends five of its best players to compete against other elite clubs. This exclusive event is designed to foster camaraderie, sportsmanship, and competitive excellence.

Competition Format & Schedule

Day 1: Arrival and Opening Events

Participant Arrival: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

Live ball sessions and open play available
Facility tour at Boca West

Opening Ceremonies: 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Meet and greet with Frank Pritchard
Trophy unveiling and inauguration
Cocktails and buffet

Day 2: Pool Play & Activities

Teams divided into pools of five, each led by a club captain

Team captain chooses players (Ryder cup style); minimum of four matches per team, round robin format

Match scoring: Side out to 11 points (win by 2), maximum 15 points per match

Lunch provided

Additional Activities:

Skill events and contests
Pro exhibition

Vendor experiences:

Sip & Shop
Tequila tasting
Wellness (massage, red light therapy, etc.)

Cocktail happy hour with mixologist

Dinner/ Live music

Day 3: Knockout Round & Finals

Top 2 teams from each pool advance to knockout round

Single elimination format through to finals (2 games per team)

Final match: first to 15 points, win by 2 (2 games) (Tie Breaker if needed)

Open play for eliminated teams

Lunch provided

Championship match

Closing Ceremonies: Approx. 3:00 - 4:00 PM

Captain's Role

Captains hold a vital leadership position within the competition. They are responsible for selecting players, setting the daily lineup, and guiding their teams both on and off the court. In addition, captains oversee match preparation and provide on-court coaching throughout the event. Their strategic decisions play a crucial role in maximizing the team's chances of winning the J. Pritchard Distinguished Cup.

Club Entry & Spouse Participation

The club entry fee provides access to all events and competitions, plus exclusive culinary and vendor experiences. Spouses are encouraged to attend and participate for an additional fee of $450, which grants them full access alongside the players.

Hotel Accommodations & Transportation

Room Rates have been negotiated at the newly renovated Hilton Boca Raton Suites located on Glades Rd. We have secured 1 King Suite for $169/night or 2 Double Beds Suite for $179/night.

Reservations are space dependent, so lock in your room early using code “Distinguished” to get this rate.

Shuttle service to and from the hotel will be provided.
